What You’ll Do

  • Diagnosing and resolving faults within electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC or building-fabric systems

  • Supporting installation, replacement and upgrade work across both large plant and everyday building assets

  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Trust policies, and regulatory standards relevant to your trade

  • Using digital tools such as PDAs, BMS/CAFM systems, and electronic job allocation platforms

  • Working independently or as part of a multi-trade team in a live healthcare environment

  • Participating in on-call rotas and supporting urgent or emergency repairs when required

Your work ensures the reliability of essential services — from ventilation and heating to plumbing and electrical distribution — and supports a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

  • Ability to work independently, manage workloads and adapt to changing priorities
  • Good communication skills and confidence liaising with colleagues, contractors and clinical teams
  • Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g., HTMs, permit-to-work systems, specialist plant training)
  • A “can-do” attitude, excellent communication skills and ideally experience with fire doors or healthcare environments

Desirable

  • Experience working in a healthcare or other highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation or guidance (e.g., HTMs, COSHH, L8 for water systems, PUWER)
  • Multi-skilled experience across trades or building systems
