Electrician – Queen’s Hospital, Romford

40 hours per week, 5 days

On‑call rota participation required

Are you an experienced Electrician looking for a role where your skills genuinely make a difference? Join our Estates Hard Services team at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, and play a key part in keeping a major healthcare environment safe, reliable, and fully operational.

This is a role where your expertise directly supports patient care — every repair, inspection, and improvement you make contributes to a safer hospital for everyone.

What You’ll Be Doing

Maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrical systems — from lighting and distribution to fire detection, security systems, and critical plant

Carrying out fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repairs on complex systems

Providing technical advice and working closely with contractors and suppliers

Participating in the on‑call rota and responding to emergencies when needed

Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Sodexo policies

Using CAFM systems to manage and monitor work effectively

What You’ll Bring

Completed electrical apprenticeship or structured training programme

Relevant City & Guilds qualifications

Experience in a maintenance environment

Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant, and statutory compliance

Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

Willingness to undertake specialist training and Authorised Person duties

Desirable: • Experience in an acute hospital setting • IT skills and familiarity with critical electrical systems

Additional Requirements

Ability to meet a 30‑minute response time for on‑call duties

Flexibility to work overtime or provide additional cover

Commitment to patient dignity, confidentiality, and high‑quality service
