Sodexo is looking for a Cook Manager to take the lead at Platt Primary School, Maidstone Road, St Mary’s Platt, Sevenoaks, TN15 8JY. This is a role where your passion for fresh, tasty food and your natural leadership can truly shine.
You’ll run a warm, friendly school kitchen that plays an important part in the day for students and staff. From preparing nutritious meals to shaping menus and supporting your team, you’ll be at the heart of a busy, enjoyable environment. And with no unsociable hours and all public holidays off, including Christmas, your work life balance will feel just right.

What You’ll Do
Your role will be all about quality, teamwork and smooth daily operation. You’ll make sure meals are consistently good, the kitchen runs efficiently and the team feels supported. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing delicious, fresh meals and overseeing daily service
- Managing stock, ordering and cost control
- Leading, training and motivating your kitchen team
- Developing appealing menus that meet nutritional and school standards
- Maintaining a safe, clean and compliant kitchen through regular checks
What You Bring
- Experience cooking for large groups (100 – 1300 students), ideally in a school or similar setting
- Confidence working with fresh ingredients and following recipes
- Previous experience supervising or managing a team
- A good understanding of kitchen health and safety
- A calm, positive attitude when working under pressure
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 2 Food Safety, plus at least one year of hands on cooking experience
Training in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety will be provided to support your development.

- Term Time only (39 week Working Contract paid over 52 weeks)**
