- £14.23 per hour
- 12–18 hours per week
- Shifts: (Shifts are: 1st week 12 hrs & 2nd week 18 hrs) 1st week Wed & Thurs & 2nd week Wed - Friday. Wednesday & Thursday 7.00am – 1.00pm & Alternative Fridays 7.00am – 1.00pm
- Free staff car parking on site
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 400–600 meals daily to a high standard and on schedule
- Ensure all food is produced in line with HACCP and Sodexo guidelines, with accurate record keeping
- Provide efficient and friendly service to customers during meal times
- Maintain kitchen and service areas to the highest hygiene standards, completing all required documentation
- Support the Chef Manager with buffets, functions, stock control and ordering
- Assist with food preparation in the Grab & Go unit and Walmer House as required
- Report incidents or customer feedback promptly, ensuring documentation is completed
- Contribute to the training and development of junior catering team members
- Play a key role in the smooth running of the catering operation
About You
- Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure
- Passionate about food and customer service
- Supervising Food Safety Level 3 qualification (desirable / working towards)
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification (desirable)
- Previous Lead Chef, Sous Chef or production kitchen experience
- Knowledge of contract catering and staff training desirable
- Professional appearance with a strong focus on hygiene
