Job Introduction

Join Sodexo as a Cleaning Operative in Southampton and play an important role in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments for our clients and colleagues. This is a great opportunity for a reliable and detail-focused individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team, delivering high standards of cleanliness and service every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all required training and carry out cleaning tasks as instructed by the Cleaning Supervisor or Workplace Manager
  • Follow cleaning schedules and ensure all duties are completed to the required standard
  • Wear the correct company uniform and personal protective equipment at all times
  • Follow Sodexo and client policies, including health & safety, security, COSHH, and safe systems of work
  • Use cleaning equipment and colour-coding correctly to prevent cross-contamination, reporting any faults promptly
  • Support the wider team by carrying out reasonable requests to help deliver a high-quality cleaning service

What We’re Looking For:

  • Basic literacy skills to understand instructions, safety information, and cleaning schedules
  • Basic numeracy skills for measuring cleaning products and managing tasks
  • Previous cleaning experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience delivering good customer service and interacting professionally with others
  • A positive, reliable approach to work with a willingness to learn.
