As a Cleaner, you’ll deliver a high-quality, responsive cleaning service in line with contractual SLAs and KPIs. You’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across a variety of university spaces while working safely, efficiently and professionally at all times.

What you’ll do

• Cleaning designated areas thoroughly and within agreed timeframes, including daily, weekly and periodic tasks

• Using cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals safely in line with COSHH regulations

• Cleaning floors using appropriate equipment, including buffing machines where required

• Emptying bins and replenishing consumables such as toilet rolls, soap and paper towels

• Damp-dusting surfaces including desks, furniture, skirting boards, stair rails and communal areas

• Ensuring safety signage (e.g. wet floor signs) is used correctly at all times

• Keeping cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely

• Reporting faulty equipment, low stock levels and any health & safety concerns to the Cleaning Supervisor

• Wearing company uniform and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and appearance

• Providing cover across other areas during sickness and holidays when required

• Attending training and team meetings to maintain standards and develop your skills

• A resilient, professional approach when dealing with challenges

• Flexibility to respond to occasional out-of-hours or emergency situations

• Willingness to support other areas of the contract and attend training or meetings at other sites when required
