Technical Trainee/Graduate (Food Manufacture)
Job Introduction
We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Graduate to support the daily functions of the Technical & Quality Assurance department and the Product Development department at our site in Abertillery.
You will be trained in all aspects of technical and QA services and be able to back-fill and support any role as the demands of the business change. Role Responsibility
- Collect daily food samples and collate and check production records for compliance
- Conduct quality and sensory evaluation checks on raw materials, components and finished products and monitor compliance to specification
- Help with internal investigations of non-conformances and support members of the technical team on projects
- Collating and inputting of technical data
- Monitoring production standards and processes
- Technical administration, filing and record keeping
- Support the provision of samples for customer assessments and tenders
- Liaising with suppliers and customers and provide support for technical audits
- Support Product Development technologists with trials and product launches
- Provide cover of key technical duties during periods of staff holidays/absence.
The Ideal Candidate
- Keen interest in food safety and quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good IT skills – Word, Excel, and MS Outlook
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to this technical support role
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- Basic understanding of the objectives of the food manufacturing industry
- Ability to focus on internal and external customer requirements
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Food safety certificate
Desirable
- Food science/technology Graduate
- 3 GCSE’s at grade C or above, 1 to be science
- Understanding of food service in healthcare settings
- Understanding of UK food hygiene legislation
- Interest in food trends and technology.
