Offshore Joiner (Ad-Hoc)

Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Offshore Joiner to join our Ad-Hoc pool to undertake offshore surveys in order to review proposed work scopes, develop scope of works, material take-offs, tools and consumables required to undertake works; to undertake a variety of architectural outfitting and joinery works offshore to various areas within the living quarters – i.e. galleys, mess halls, cabins, wet rooms, corridors, offices and communal/recreation areas; and to ensure that all flooring works are undertaken to a high quality and carried out in a safe and compliant manner.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Undertaking offshore surveys and be able to identify any issues with any outfitting components such as doors, wall panels/bulkheads, ceiling systems and general furniture, fixtures and fittings
  • Taking-off materials required as part of any survey and knowledge of common architectural outfitting manufacturers products and materials for use offshore
  • Assisting warehouse and logistics team with identifying appropriate tools, materials and consumables for associated works offshore
  • Dismantling of existing furniture, fixtures and fittings in addition to the destruct of architectural outfitting components such as ceilings systems, wall panels/bulkheads and doors
  • Installation of various wall panel systems and associated top and bottom tracks
  • Installation of various ceiling systems and associated perimeter trims and support hangers
  • Installation of various door systems and associated door ironmongery and furniture
  • Installation of Altro Whiterock hygienic wall cladding and associated wall and floor trims
  • Installation of Fast Clad decorative wall cladding
  • Installation and assembly of manufactured joinery items such as bunks, lockers, desks, storage units, IPS wall systems, toilet cubicles etc
  • General handyman type maintenance activities within the living quarters offshore
  • Willingness to assist other trades where required – i.e., screeding, flooring and basic plumbing works where required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Practical trades skills, including working knowledge of offshore compliance and construction standards best practice
  • Confident and with an ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative
  • Demonstrable commitment to working safely at all times
  • IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office applications (for the purposes of survey and trip reports)
  • Ability to self-manage and self-plan workload to meet set deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to work with other team members/disciplines and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Has a desire to learn and develop within the role
  • Practical experience of working with safe systems of work and following procedures

Package Description

  • £250 -  £300 per day depending on experience
  • 12 hours per day/ 7days per week (whilst offshore at client site)
  • Offshore trips of up to 21 days
