Information Support Officer

Job Introduction

The Colchester Garrison Information Support Officer will be responsible to the Garrison Information Manager for all Information Administration matters and will be Head of the Garrison IHub. This is a great opportunity to gain more exposure in the business and progress your career.

Role Responsibility

  • Management of the iHub and responsible for all activities as laid down in JSP 747.
  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of the ISA and for providing guidance on all aspects of their work and training.
  • Data Protection Assistant (DPA) responsible for Land Forces Information Asset Register and Protecting Information Training.
  • Advising the Senior Information Officer and Information Manager on all information matters, executing their policies and managing the iAdmin function.   
  • Execution of all Chief Information Officers Information Management polices.
  • Performing the duties of Record Manager, with responsibility for the maintenance of the registered files and other records in support of the Branch Records Officer.
  • The maintenance and promulgation of information via the Garrison website.
  • Maintain a record of staff training for Defence Information Infrastucture (DII), Microsoft Office Sharepoint Services (MOSS), and Meridio.    
  • Advice on the effective use of IT applications available. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good oral communication skills.  
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a successful team.  
  • Professional demeanour which generates credibility amongst internal/external customers, staff and client.
  • IT literate e.g. hold full EDCL.
  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent; or NVQ Business Administration Level 2. 

Package Description

£8.96 per hour based on 37 hours a week
