Food Development Director
Job Introduction
This is a fantastic and unique opportunity to really enhance your catering career. A specialist, craft focused food director is required to oversee the creation and delivery of all catering services across Sodexo’s Independent Schools division.
This is a high profile role that will have a significant impact on the enhanced performance of the division. You will work closely with the Divisional Director, Account Director and local managers to help ensure that the division’s reputation continues to grow.
Role Responsibility
- Drive food standards across the division to a consistently high standard of quality and presentation so that the divisional reputation is built on quality food delivery
- Train develop and motivate chefs within our business to ensure they are able to perform to the required capability level and can meet and maintain (at all times) company standards and able to deliver innovative food solutions to their customers
- Create a culture of high food quality standards and direct the innovative food strategy of this business
- Develop the craft skills where appropriate within the business through training and mentoring
- Provide support to and attend at the selling of new business and mobilisation of new contracts with quality food solution
- Initiate a process of continuous improvement by undertaking company promotions and extraordinary merchandising initiatives to ensure the client sees quality and innovation
The Ideal Candidate
- A real passion for and skill in delivering top quality food standards. Ability to relay that passion to others and engage them.
- Proven background in delivering innovation around food in a contract catering environment
- Experience and success in leading and taking part in culinary competitions
- Proven experience in managing and leading a high quality catering function
- Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
- Strong financial understanding and demonstrable in understanding budgets
- Experienced in adhering to and driving company initiatives
- Proven ability communicating at different levels
Given the nature of this role, please be aware that travel to locations across the country will be required.
