3D Interior Designer

Job Introduction

We’re creating an inhouse creative team at Sodexo and have an exciting opportunity for a 3D Interior Designer to be part of the newly formed team.

You’ll be responsible for creating 3D renderings and motions for our bid submissions to showcase to clients, working closely with the Design Leads and segments you’ll create a brief to understand the concept and initial design intent and apply this to 3D interior visualisations and 2D images. Compositing, finishing and retouching operations on 3D renderings and be involved in modelling, rendering and post production stages.

A flare for interior design and previous architectural experience with an understanding of how people interact with environments is essential for success in this position. You’ll be a self-starter, confident hosting and leading design meetings and be excited by the prospect of taking an empty space to a fully functional and interactive environment. Initially this position is offered on a fixed term contract of 12 months however the position may offer potential to become permanent.

Role Responsibility

• Construct Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings and 3D visuals for presentation. Participate in research and presentation of new design proposals to clients or design lead
• Creating 3D models from architectural plans, rough sketches or real – life objects using special rendering software
• Enhancing images and adding special effects creatively
• Creating 3D walk-throughs and fly-through in artistic fields
• Delivering Design Visualization & Presentation Projects to clients
• Explore new technologies (both hardware and software) to improve the quality of visualisations and increase efficiency. This is likely to include new rendering engines as well as emerging trends such as virtual reality.
• Produce texture assets and materials in a range of art styles
• Work with both "still" representations and animations for tender presentation 
• Presentation skills (i.e. 3d visuals, material/mood boards etc).
• Strong design and presentation skills
• Up to date with modern trends with a keen interest in interiors 
• Work collaboratively within the team/segments/client to create and develop new, on-brand ideas and drive them from concept through to delivery

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

• Experience of 3D modelling and rendering in other 3D packages is preferable (for example Vray, 3DS Max etc.)

• An extensive working knowledge of 3D Studio Max
• Visual flair is a must.
• Consistent and regularly delivers good quality results within short timeframes
• A strong familiarity with Photoshop and related Adobe products such as After Effects, Premier and Illustrator. 
• Expected to travel around the UK where required
• Flexible to work out of hours on weekdays and weekends when required

Desirable:

• Illustrative skills for freehand perspective drawings
• Transferable skills in After Effects and Permier

2D or transferable skills, such as storyboarding, animation, graphic design or UI design
