Security Officer

Job Introduction

Role Responsibility

As a Security Officer you could be responsible for:

 

  • Ad-hoc support for our security operations
  • Ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure
  • Patrolling, securing and monitoring premises, sometimes with the aid of closed circuit television (CCTV)
  • Supervising the door for a large organisation
  • Guarding cash or other valuables in transit in a security vehicle
  • Driving vehicles as and when required
  • Health and Safety and Evacuation procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

Essential

  • A SIA Licence holder for Manned Guarding or Door Supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook user skills
  • Experience working in a customer focused environment or similar role
  • Knowledge of security techniques and procedures

Desirable

  • Experienced security officer
  • Previous experience of Gatehouse and CCTV operational use.
  • Physically fit enough to withstand site foot patrol of at least 3hrs per shift
  • Prepared to work additional shifts on a frequent basis
  • Radio operations

 

Package Description

£8.60 per hour then £9.10 on completion of probationary period (normally 2-3 Months)

20 days Annual leave per year (pro rata)

Working 12hrs shifts, days and nights on a variable shift pattern averaging over 42hrs per week during the year.

Conduct Security checks on a large number of vehicles entering and leaving the site.

Operate a computer in relation to vehicle logging, security documents, reports, e-mails etc.

Carry out some foot patrols around the site when working nights and weekends.

Keep the security office and personal appearance up to the high standards expected by the company and client.

Work in the Help desk/ Reception area when required to do so.

Understands the need to display a professional, polite, courteous and calm manner at all times.
