Job Introduction

We have an excellent opportunity to join the Sodexo team at Perth Racecourse on a fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave. This role will lead and manage the existing Sales and Marketing team of three executives to achieve on-going sales targets in Corporate Hospitality and Conference and Banqueting, you will have joint responsibility for growing the portfolio of commercial partnerships in conjunction with the racecourse.

Role Responsibility

In this role, you will implement the existing 2017 sales and marketing strategy, co-ordinate media coverage in liaison with the PR Agency and lead the team to exceed targets. Leading by example, you will be hands on and actively promote and sell raceday hospitality and conference and events, researching, identifying and managing new market and account opportunities. You will provide weekly sales reports for the General Manager and put together a concise marketing plan. You will be proactive in attending industry events and optmising networking opportunities. You’ll be the sales point of contact from an internal perspective and for the Client in addition to establishing relationships with key stakeholders across the Sodexo business. This role is based in Perth but will involve travel across the area.

The Ideal Candidate

  • People Management Skills
  • Proven experience in a similar proactive sales and marketing role.
  • Knowledge of the industry, either hospitality, catering or events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, passionate and self-motivated
  • Confident and tenacious with a creative flare
  • Effective team leader and team player working towards the racecourses key objectives and  
  • Targets
  • IT literate /able to operate common booking systems/ CRM
  • Own Transport
