Quality Assurance Officer - on behalf of Essex CRC

Job Introduction

Essex CRC is looking to recruit a quality assurance officer to support the continuous improvement agenda on a 1 year fixed term contract. 

The successful candidate will be contributing to reducing reoffending, changing lives for the better and improving the quality of life for those under CRC supervision through effective delivery of probation services. 

In particular this role will focus on supporting Essex CRC to deliver quality services to the desired standard. This will be achieved through various quality assurance activities and delivery of feedback to individuals and teams with a view to achieving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be asked to work to tight deadlines and need to demonstrate attention and commitment to detailed and accurate work products and record keeping. They will require good organisational and problem solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements with quality and performance at the forefront of everything they do

Role Responsibility

  • Support the completion of Quality Inspections as required.
  • Support in the undertaking of all monitoring, data and quality assurance work within a team or the wider CRC.              
  • Complete Internal audits in line with the IS09001 accreditation as directed by the Senior Leadership Team Lead.
  • Support Manager Operational Investigations with maintaining SFO, SCR & DHR action logs and disseminating lessons learnt.
  • Provide constructive feedback to colleagues and identify learning and development needs and opportunities.
  • Support the Delivery of Learning and quality performance messages individually and in a group setting.
  • Maintain corrective action logs with findings, recommendations and outcomes.
  • Where required provide information to the Information and Performance team to be included in reports to the senior leadership and contract management team.
  • Complete records using approved CRC ICT systems and in accordance with CRC policy.
  • Work effectively and in a way that promotes the Sodexo operating model to support the CRC’s achievement of Service Level and good industry practice standards.
  • Evaluate HMIP reports, thematic reviews and identifying key themes and findings from Essex CRC and wider Probation providers. Helping to bench mark and implement good industry standards with a view to supporting continuous improvement.
  • Work in a pro-social and non-discriminatory way to promote equality and inclusion in compliance with relevant CRC policies.
  • Participate in supervision and appraisal with the line manager, including performance and development reviews. 
  • Engage in relevant training and development.
  • Act as a point of contact for colleagues for the provision of advice and guidance on quality measures striving for continuous improvement.
  • Work in a safe way that complies with CRC Health and Safety policies and does not place yourself, your colleagues and service users or others in danger.
  • Work in accordance with CRC policy and practice at all times.
  • Undertake staff development tasks in relation to the induction of new staff and the provision of coaching and mentoring support to colleagues who may require these inputs as part of their development/performance management.

Essential Knowledge

  • Competent and confident in current role. Internal candidates will require line management support through the competency framework and external candidates will require sufficient references indicating competency in their previous/current role.
  • Good understanding of Service Level Measures
  • Good understanding of Operating Model and Minimum Standards
  • Good understanding of HMIP and industry standards

Package Description

Band 4 salary commencing at £29,038 per annum

37 hours per week, 27 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, defined contribution pension scheme, company sick pay, group discount scheme.
