Hospitality Team Leader

Job Introduction

To ensure a five star, professional service is delivered throughout all hospitality services at UCL

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure all UCL personnel, clients and their guests are greeted and attended to in a professional, efficient and discreet manner.
  • To ensure effective communication with the hospitality management team and service delivery team
  •  To provide feedback to the Hospitality Manager on any client comments or special requests made by the clients and their guests.
  • Ensure that all rooms are laid out in accordance with the user’s requirements
  •  To hold regular ‘Team Huddles’ and ‘Event Briefings’ with the hospitality delivery team
  • To assist with the Hospitality supervisor with team rotas
  • To actively run events ensuring the correct standards are met and event procedures are followed from start to finish
  • Undertake regular checks to ensure that all meeting rooms are clean and hospitality services are presented to the highest standards and the client's satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the company security procedures and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • To carry out any reasonable request made by the management, outside normal duties, but within the scope of the job.

Essential

  • Previous hospitality & event service experience
  • Excellent communication

Job Description

 

Job Title:               Lounge Team Leader

 

Responsible to:      Unit Manager / Head Chef

 

Liases with:           Unit Manager, Head Chef and Departmental Managers (MAS)

 

Job Summary:        To maintain a consistently high standard of counter food & presentation for all services, to organise and motivate the Front of House team to ensure a quality of customer service at all times. Liase with the head chef to ensure an efficient service throughout the day.

 

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Deputize for the unit manager in their absence. Take full responsibility of the whole unit in Unit Managers absence and on daily shift.

 

  1. Deal with customer queries & complaints professionally, record any relevant details in handover book and notify the unit manager.

 

  1. Comply with opening and closing procedures

 

  1. To ensure security of all stock relating to Sodexo operation at Malaysian Golden Lounge.

 

  1. Ensure services are provided to a high standard at all times in terms of food presentation cleanliness & customer service, Servery, Restaurant, Plate wash & Foyer,

 

  1. Briefing staff daily regarding duties before shift starts, menu content, shift Special Requirements, cleaning duties & any health & safety issues.

 

  1. Checking all cleaning duties have been completed and signed off on the cleaning schedule. This is includes all cleaning Schedules in the unit.

 

 

  1. Ensure all staff is signed in and out.

 

  1. Monitor services throughout the day, utilizing  and reorganizing staff to ensure efficient service

 

  1. Record all stock transfers in the book as and when anything is transferred like sweets for the Check in.

 

  1. Record all relevant information in the Shift handover book daily to communicate effectively with opposite Lounge Team Leaders & other members of the management staff.

 

  1. Ensuring all security procedures are followed in relation to knives and Alcohol.

 

  1. Completing Accident books, report all faults in lounge to Manager and note it in the handover book.

 

  1. Monitor and record staff lateness and failure to turn up.

 

  1. To assist the unit manager with weekly stock takes if required.

 

  1. To always treat staff with respect when managing there Performance on shift.

 

  1. Complete Daily & weekly wastage sheets.

 

 

 

Duties towards Personnel

 

  1. Ensure that all staff including you is wearing the uniform as provided including your name badge and maintain it in good repair. Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene.

  1. Ensure that staff including you are completing and recording temperature audits daily. To include all chilled and frozen storage. Reporting any discrepancies to the Line Manager/ Head Chef

 

  1. Ensuring all staff including you is making sure that products stored / displayed are date coded, stock rotated and labelled correctly.

 

  1. Ensuring all polices relating to deliveries and storage is adhered by all staff including you. In relation of Health / Food safety e.g. quality, quantity, and temperature.

 

  1. To follow objectives set by Management and use the training given when nessacerey.

 

  1. To ensure Company Policies are followed at all times, by staff and management

 

Administration Duties

 

  1. Clock in and out when on shift to ensure hours worked are paid correctly. Follow shift roster’s.

 

  1. To attend training sessions and meetings as requested.

 

  1. To report immediately any incidents of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or any other irregularities to the Line Manager.

 

  1. To Comply with all legal and Company procedures in relation to Health and Safety.

 

  1. To report any issues of Health and Safety immediately to a Line Manager.

 

This Job Description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for a Lounge Team Leader and the range of duties to be undertaken.

 

It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals. You will be required at all times to perform any other task, as requested by your Line Manager/ Management Team.
