Guest Services Manager

Job Introduction

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced management professional to look after our contract guest services including all retail, food service delivery and mess services at our Colchester Garrison.

This is a great opportunity to develop your management skills working in a unique environment and one which will allow you as a manager to develop your skills and utilise that of those around you.

Role Responsibility

  • Full P&L accountability for contract guest services including all retail, food and mess services
  • Accountable for delivery of service excellence SLAs in all guest services
  • Operational interface between the guest services client and the Contract director
  • Accountable for £9.2million turnover and 4 managerial direct reports.
  • Coach and manage employees using the Sodexo performance review processes, talent development and succession planning.
  • Apply Sodexo people management processes, policies and procedures to project a high support, high challenge performance management culture that motivates an engaged workforce
  • Deliver Sodexo applicable service offers drawing upon the Centres of Excellence where appropriate and supporting the Contract Director to recommend service solutions and improvements for clients in all guest services
  • Identify organic growth opportunities and sell additional services and increase revenue growth of the contract through integration, innovation and efficiencies within guest services

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • Previous experience of operational management in a similar environment, including retail catering and mess/hotel services management.
  • People management experience
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
  • HNC or relevant industry qualification
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial and commercial information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities
  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment
