About the role

Hospital stays can be quite a stressful time for our patients and their loved ones, a simple smile and fantastic service can put a patient at ease and make all the difference!  

At Sodexo, our waste team are vital to making sure that we provide a high-quality service for our patients and visitors. To provide this great service, we have a talented team behind us, and currently have a vacancy for a Waste Porter to join us.

You will undertake the movement of waste from wards, waste holds internally and externally around the hospital.

Please note, you must have the ability to deal with clinical waste, smells, bodily excretions and fluids. Due to the nature of the role you will be required to hold a full UK driving license.

 A few things about you 

Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s important to have a positive, approachable attitude as this is a customer facing role. You’ll need to have strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate great teamwork!

You must have experience of waste within a hospital or similar environment.

Sodexo embeds a strong Safety culture in everything we do. There will be company procedures to follow alongside our Health & Safety practices so it is vital that you will champion this.
