Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen with Sodexo as the Training Manager based at Ascot Racecourse, this role manages the delivery of all training and development opportunities for Sodexo staff onsite through the Ascot Academy Training programme, whether casual workers, agency staff or full-time members of the team. Based at this fantastic venue the role involves driving standards and service excellence across our catering and hospitality teams.

Role Responsibility

As Training Manager, you will ensure all the Sodexo team based at the race course have completed relevant training in order to deliver a fantastic level of service, whether this be E-learning or classroom training. Being responsible for the delivery of training and development activities across the venue you will design and develop new initiatives aligned to the business strategy to raise standards of service. Ensuring that all Sodexo employees and casual staff have received the required learning and development as set out in the Ascot Academy, you will maintain accurate records, produce relevant reports and complete audits when necessary. You will work with the Managers across the venue to identify learning and development needs, then design and develop a range of solutions including E-Learning ideas.  Working within budgets you will also liaise with external suppliers to deliver any relevant brand, skills or product training to the team. Supporting the People Operations Manager in developing the staffing and people strategy for the venue you will also assist in communicating this to the client. This role also involves working with the wider Sodexo HR and Learning and development teams to reviews training programs and share best practise. This is an autonomous and varied role, suitable for people that have a passion for the development of employees, driving standards whilst motivating and retaining an engaged workforce.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience of managing a learning and development/training provision
  • Confident presenter, able to deliver to large groups of people of all levels
  • Able to influence up to senior management level on site
  • Experience in management of budgets
  • Experience of working within Events/Hospitality industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively to other people across all levels and organisations
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft programmes including Excel
