We are looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to join our team in Dublin. As the site is in a very exiting period of change, the focus of the role during the construction phase is to ensure the design and build contractor designs a building and equipment to allow Sodexo to deliver its contractual obligations.

The role will include site visits, staff training, review and comment on design issues, creation of the con-tract asset database and PPM/Lifecycle plan.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for the operational management of building and engineering services for Sodexo Technical Services and for management of the site, including staff management.
  • Undertake Authorised Person responsibilities in relation to specified systems
  • The day to day commercial management in line with contractual requirements and Sodexo operating procedures. Working with the Sodexo Energy Manager and Design and Build Contractor developing, implementing and managing energy polices for the site. Management operation and implementation of the permit to Work system and Safe Systems at work.
  • Ensuring the design and build installation and services comply in accordance with legislative, statutory, HTM requirements and service requirements.
  • Active member of the senior management team. Representing the contract commercially and technically at meeting and when required by the GSM.
  • Commercial and Quality Management of the operational element of the contract, including management of the Performance Monitoring systems and to ensure Contract and Commercial Compliance.
  • The cost-effective delivery of a Planned Preventative Maintenance Service. Achieved by site visits, liaison with the Design and Build Contractor and use of Project Agreement Schedules.
  • To be on call or available for emergencies on a rota basis.
  • Overall responsibility for the Management, Implementation and monitoring of the Permit to Work System.
  • In conjunction with the Sodexo Energy Manager and Design and Build Contractor implement an energy strategy, polices and initiatives.
  • Ensure plant is installed to ensure compliance with our obligations and operated to its optimum efficiency
  • Encourage and participate in departmental energy saving schemes and promote the understanding and importance of economic use of energy.
  • Provide technical and professional support to all staff, Project Company representatives to include the Design and Build Contractor colleagues, Engineering Supervisors and to client officers in order to develop a “team” approach.
  • Responsible for the training and authorising of competent persons
  • Key point of contact with the client in relation to the provision of estate maintenance services.
  • Maintain IIP standards in line with accreditation and preparation for reassessment.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Management qualification (ILM, CMI, DMS, NVQ)
  • Experience in building services and plant engineering
  • Experience in maintenance technical issues
  • Experience in water hygiene regulations
  • Awareness of CDM Regulations
  • Proven experience of managing a maintenance team and achieving SLA’s
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal
  • Numerate and computer literate
  • High level of interpersonal skills with ability to deal with people at all levels and disciplines
  • Effective Team Player
  • Flexibility with the ability to work under pressure whilst looking for continual improvements to service delivery
  • Fully aware of H&S and general legislative matters
  • Qualified to authorise the switching of LV equipment
  • Qualified to authorise work on Pressure systems
  • Qualified to authorise work on medical gas systems
  • Appreciation of RA techniques as applied to estates activity
  • Car driver
  • Good IT skills

Desirable

  • Higher Degree in relevant subject
  • CDM Professional Training
  • Demonstrating maturity in working with multi-discipline trade groups
  • Good understanding of Building management systems.
  • H&S certificate
  • Qualified to authorise work POL systems
  • Qualified to authorise work on steriliser and de-contamination equipment
