Tax Accountant
Job Introduction
Sodexo are currently recruiting for a Tax Accountant to work in our central Tax team based at Salford Quays. You will be a qualified accountant and ideally CTA qualified. You will undertake UK and ROI corporation tax (CT) compliance, including tax accounting, alongside offering advice on both of these, and improving the CT compliance processes and systems, so you must have strong technical knowledge of CT and corporate tax accounting. Role Responsibility
- Maintain the annual CT compliance cycle; including submission and payments
- Prepare the UK CT returns and submit them to HMRC by the relevant deadline;
- Calculate CT payments, including payments on account, so that CT is paid at the appropriate time;
- Calculate and provide all tax accounting analysis
- Calculate and maximise the use of tax losses and other reliefs, such as RnD and share options
- Prepare the monthly CT journals and review the tax charges forming part of the monthly management reporting and budgeting process to ensure the accuracy of the figures;
- Prepare quarterly, semi-annual and annual budgets and forecasts for CT and deferred tax to ensure the tax figures are reflected accurately;
- Prepare annual group accounts and statutory accounts tax workings
- Review, maintain and operate internal controls around CT compliance, including SAO
- Maintain country transfer pricing defence files
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- CTA qualified;
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);
- Good solid technical knowledge of CT;
- A thorough understanding of deferred tax;
- A good understanding of UK GAAP, FAS101/2 and IFRS differences;
- Excellent standard with Excel;
- Organised and methodical, able to plan and prioritise work and execute independently;
- Flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Recent experience of preparing CT returns, management reports accounting for tax, and statutory accounting for tax;
- Technically up to date;SAP & Hyperion accounting software experience; ONESOURCE corporate tax software experience.
- Big 4 trained (desirable)
