Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker within the South Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company. The post will initially be based in Barnsley and will include the support to two members of staff in the completion of their duties. This will include composing and preparing letters, reports, agendas, minutes of meetings and associated office based tasks. In addition, the successful applicant will need to prepare and check documents or correspondence on behalf of the members of staff.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive confidential administrative support using Information Technology.  To include: composing and preparing letters, reports, agendas, minutes of meetings and associated office based tasks.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing mail, diary management, filing, photocopying and arranging meetings.
  • Undertake routine, non-routine administrative tasks and projects and project management that involve research, compilation, preparation and monitoring of a variety of information of a legal, non-legal, financial or other specialist nature.
  • Provide support at meetings at various locations by minute taking and presenting information as required.
  • Ability to prioritise work on behalf of the Responsible Officer.
  • Effective communication with the team on administration issues.
  • Preparation and checking of documents or correspondence on behalf of the Responsible Officer

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • IT skills – Ability to operate Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to deliver administrative procedures in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of the administrative procedures 
  • Understanding of the day to day practical administrative processes
  • Ability to organise and prioritise complex workload demands.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.
  • RSA Stage II Typing/Word Processing or equivalent.
  • Experience of support role duties
  • Experience of problem solving and organising activity under pressure.

Desirable

  • Experience in the probation environment.

Package Description

Band 2 Salary £18,203 - £21,929 pro-rated

29 hours per week, 27 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (pro-rated), defined contribution pension scheme, company sick pay, group discount scheme.
