Service Operations Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Service Operations Manager to join a Total Facilities Management site in Portsmouth. You should be agile, effective working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and have excellent communication and leadership skills.

The site is a large production estate with more than 20 separate buildings with various let agreements and Sodexo provides a wide range of Technical and Soft services – reactive and planned preventative maintenance, technical project delivery, cleaning, catering and post room services. You should have a proven track record in a similar role with multiple service lines and multiple stakeholders.

We offer a salary up to £46,000 dependent on experience, a bonus, Sodexo employee benefits and excellent development and progression opportunities within the company.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Effective Ownership to manage the quality and compliance of all services provided across the designated area. To interface with Service Leads, Operational Managers and Clients to ensure all service standards are met or exceeded.
  • Lead the management of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation relating to the building portfolio ensuring the statutory requirements are met and all records maintained up to
  • Take overall responsibility for ensuring that contracts are operated within their contractual terms, have a unit business plan which is reviewed at least quarterly showing key objectives, goals and measures that link to the overall business plan and strategy for the segment
  • Take overall responsibility for ensuring the contracts perform to budget and achieve their unit business plans and improve financial performance utilising nominated suppliers, maximising labour productivity in line with Company models, policies and procedures and controlling costs
  • Supporting the delivery of Client Energy management Strategies and identifying further innovations/opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
  • To be a key part of the site incident response process, ensuring that relevant Sodexo staff are trained in the process
  • Identify and progress growth opportunities in line with Account Strategy and to support Client Business needs.
  • To control and monitor financial performance of designated area, in line with pre-determined Cluster aligned budgets
  • Responsibility for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with our Customers, identifying and initiating innovative service delivery excellence methods which are in line with our customer’s wider business objectives
  • Coach managers to ensure that the Sodexo Values and principles are adopted, employee’s performance is managed through the Sodexo performance management processes and talent development and succession planning activities take place
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance quality through innovation and cost efficiency by monitoring performance against existing standards
  • Senior Management reviews with the customer on performance on a monthly basis.
  • To provide direct reporting to clients on the financial performance of their site(s) including budget management, recharges, debt etc
  • To liaise with customers and stakeholders in the design, preparation and implementation of selected project work and minor works, i.e. planning, estimating, commissioning, budget control and change management
  • To coordinate the response to formal Quality/Compliance Audits performed by either the client organisation, External regulatory authorities and or Sodexo Internal Audits.
  • To liaise with key site stakeholders to help ensure the coordinated delivery of all Services on site (e.g. Security, IT Support etc)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Building or Building Services Degree or Equivalent Qualification 
  • Proven experience in managing P&L accounts in excess of £1m
  • Experience of managing both Hard and Soft FM contracts
  • CAFM and management information reporting
  • Proven operational knowledge, skills and experience in managing multi-site/multi service operations
  • Management of large and diverse teams
  • Manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities
  • Ability to interpret and utilise complex and varied financial and commercial information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and employees at all levels
  • Achieve set standards and operate to performance criteria; for example, health and safety, hygiene
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
