Senior Prison Custody Officers

We are recruiting for Senior Prison Custody Officers at HMP Bronzefield.  We are recruiting for a permanent SPCO and also for number of fixed term positions (4 roles in total - one permanent, one 12m FTC, two 3m FTC)

Role Responsibility

Your role is to efficiently and effectively manage a function and lead the employees working within that function to ensure a safe, decent and efficient environment.

The primary part of your role will be the responsibility of motivating, supervising and leading others.

The Ideal Candidate

We will be assessing you against:

  • Proven experience in a Prison Custody Officer role
  • A clear and demonstrable understanding of the Capability framework,
  • A clear and demonstrable understanding of what makes a good leader, the skills required and the ability to motivate and engage others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and maintain personal effectiveness in all situations
  • A solid understanding of the issues and opportunities in a custodial environment

The next stage of the process will be an assessment day, which will be held on Wednesday 04 March 2015 and will consist of team working and individual work based scenarios.  If you are successful at the assessment’s, you will then be invited to an interview on the same day which will be based on the capability framework, our values and the skills required in being a Leader.
