Role Responsibility
As a Security Officer you could be responsible for:
• Monitoring of CCTV, Access Control and other protective systems, and act as a first line response to activations & incidents or fault reporting
• To log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff
• Control of the key press and issuing of keys
• Compile accurate incident reports where appropriate and requested
• To carry out regular patrols throughout the shift
• Ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure
• Supervising the door for a large organization
• Allocating visitor car parking spaces
• Health and Safety and Evacuation procedures
• Driving vehicles as and when required
• Ad-hoc support for our security operations
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
• Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management as well as local police and fire authorities
• A full current driving licence
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent awareness skills
• Experience in working in a similar role
• A SIA Licence – Manned Guarding Licence, SIA Licence holder – CCTV
Desirable
• Knowledge of security techniques
• Knowledge of site and local emergency procedures

Permanent Nights - Shift basis
To present a smart, calm and courteous response to reception and general enquiries
Ensure the property is safe and secure through managing access control
Carry out routine patrols on foot and monitor CCTV to ensure safety of the property and its users
Ensure general tidiness of reception and site
Obtain a good working knowledge of the buildings on site
Liaise with and assist the Facilities Technician/Accommodation staff as required
Accurately record and maintain customer information/database
Deal with arrivals and departures of students
Control and distribution of keys
Issue parcels/mail as per company procedures
Answer telephone enquiries/take messages
Maintain resident, staff and client confidentiality at al times
Act as first aid point (after training)
Respond to emergency situations and fire alarms, as well as liaise with emergency services as required
Attend to all incidents and occurrence as required. Where appropriate, works to and complies with "lone workers" standards of operation
Adhere to health & safety procedures and record any "near misses" appropriately
Be able to react positively to requests for assistance including critical and urgent issues with or without input from others. Be able to prioritise requests for assistance in order to maintain a safe, sound and secure environment.
