Role Responsibility

As a Security Officer you could be responsible for:

 

  • Ad-hoc support for our security operations
  • Ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure
  • Patrolling, securing and monitoring premises, sometimes with the aid of closed circuit television (CCTV)
  • Supervising the door for a large organisation
  • Guarding cash or other valuables in transit in a security vehicle
  • Driving vehicles as and when required
  • Health and Safety and Evacuation procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • A full current driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent awareness skills
  • Experience in working in a similar role
  • A SIA Licence holder – Manned Guarding Licence, SIA Licence holder – CCTV desirable
  • Knowledge of security techniques
  • Knowledge of site and local emergency procedures

Role Responsibility

As a Security Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Ad-hoc support for the on-site Security operations.
  • Ensuring buildings, valuables & staff are safe & secure.
  • To enforce the on-site Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Single point of contact during out of hours
  • Respond & action all alarms following the correct procedures & guidelines.

     

Package Description

Working on a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off consisting of two 12 hour day shifts 07:00-19:00 followed by two 12 hour night shifts 19:00-07:00. The successful candidate will be required to be flexible and expected to change shifts or work periods of overtime when required to provide holiday and sickness cover within the Security team. Hourly rate of £9.08 P/H. Overtime rate of £11.08.

Main Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operational Duties

All paperwork completed correctly; visitor sheets, contractor sheets, delivery log, key log & Fire procedure time sheets.

  • Personnel & Training

Trained to the standards as laid down by the SIA. Licensed by the SIA. 4 days & 4 nights training, shadowing current members of the security team before going on to your rotation. Further site policies followed (SOP's & Security Instructions.) Refresher training on all Security Instructions every 6 months, or before if required.

  • Health & Safety

Making sure all site Health & Safety procedures are followed. Complete incident reports and follow the correct process for communicating them. Raise SOS's using the client’s system to report any Health & safety issues.

  • General Responsibilities
  • Access control (visitors/Contractors, Deliveries)
  • Access control routine administration.
  • Book in/out hire cars
  • Call out staff when required
  • Car pass checks
  • Carry out stop & search (vehicle/personnel)
  • CCTV monitoring
  • CCTV routine operations
  • Checking materials leaving site is correctly authorised
  • Control entry to site vehicles & pedestrians
  • Control the issue & return/retrieval of keys
  • Emergency roles followed in accordance with Security Instructions
  • Emergency situations dealt with & reported
  • Fault reporting
  • Fire alarm isolations carried out when authorised
  • Investigate thefts & issue reports to the Supervisor
  • Inspection of the perimeter/boundary fence
  • Issue car parking permits
  • issuing of electronic passes when ready
  • Lost property collected, recorded & stored correctly
  • Lone workers monitored
  • Maintenance of various records & log books (DOB's/Handovers)
  • Make sure Security Instructions are followed
  • Monitoring of site fire alarms
  • Operation of site communication equipment
  • Opening & monitoring of all gates
  • Police liaison
  • All post sorted to correct departments
  • Post delivered/collected twice a day
  • Post franked & bagged ready for Royal mail collection
  • On occasion Reception duties
  • Site patrolling & reporting
  • Unlock & lock of ad-hoc areas when requested
  • Weekly fire panel tests.

Other Duties

  • Any tasks that arise which the Security Supervisor sees as reasonable
  • Challenge any suspicious behavior & take appropriate action to protect the company, employees & assets
  • Manage photo identification (ID) badges
  • Assistance during a site emergency evacuation role
  • Manage the employee car registration system
  • Carry out vehicle speed checks
  • key control

The ideal Candidate

  • Full current driving license
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  • Excellent awareness skills
  • Experience in a similar role required but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Current & in date SIA license
