Scientific Facilities Operative

Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit a Scientific Facilities Operative to provide technical support services to all areas on site, including the specific services required by the Science Laboratory. This includes, but are not limited to waste removal in line with local processes, solvent and consumable deliveries as well as glass washing/autoclaving functions.

Role Responsibility

Collection and bulking of solvent waste.
Distribution of liquid nitrogen and filling liquid nitrogen vessels.
Management of laboratory and site gases (inc cylinders).
Delivery of dry ice and chemicals to laboratories as required.
Collection and removal of laboratory waste, disposing of all waste correctly and safely.
Operating autoclaves for bio-hazardous waste.

The Ideal Candidate

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with the Pharmaceutical /Laboratory industry.
Knowledge of Health and Safety.
Self motivated and able to work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines.
Knowledge of chemicals and safe handling / cleaning experience.
Aptitude for technical and practical matters.
Service orientated attitude combined with innovative thinking.
Strong team player with experience in a high quality customer service operation.
Reasonable level of physical fitness and a willingness to work outside when required.
