Sales & Marketing Manager

Job Introduction

You will be the responsible for helping to shape and develop the activities at Four Acres. the home of Unilever’s leadership development for nearly 70 years. A distinctive, 39-bedroom, mock Tudor mansion with substantial grounds and a conference centre that is synonymous with transformational conversations and purposeful performance.

This is an exciting,  full time or part time role, reporting to the Four Acres Business Manager, responsible for the annual sales targets for the site.

The role will be based at Four Acres between the hours of 9am and 5pm.There will be flexibility around working hours and occasional home working will be considered for the right candidate.

Role Responsibility

The role is divided in four core responsibilities: (1) sales & marketing for Unilever, (2) sales & marketing externally, (3) operational event management and (4) communications & brand building.

Sales & Marketing for Unilever

  • Developing a good understanding of how Unilever operates and networking to identify and leverage profitable activity at Four Acres.
  • Work closely with the business manager, the reception team and internal bookers to explore and achieve the right levels of occupancy, Rev PAR,RR and the right type of events.

Sales & Marketing Externally

  • Develop a profitable pipeline of external business that is appropriate to the goals and vision of Four Acres.
  • Develop and realise opportunities to commercialise some of our internal content, including but not limited to ‘Discover your Purpose.
  • Define a strategy, pipeline of business opportunities within our business eco system, and commercial budgets to work with the partners who want to use Four Acres for leadership development and purpose-related activities.
  • Analyse the market with the Four Acres Manager, defining the actions that allow to increase the market share and Four Acres positioning.

Operational event management

  • Organise and plan events in Four Acres, with special attention to those of more impact for the Four Acres image and its objectives, supporting Unilever overall strategy.
  • Takes full ownership of the event experience from arrival to departure to include but not limited to; room setup, welcome, administration, coordination of F&B/bedrooms, liaison with all departments, be the final point of contact for the event organiser and any delegates.

Communication and brand building

  • Develop and maintain effective communications across internal and external channels that support the business objectives and drive opportunities.
  • Assist the business manager to develop the discipline and the consistent values that support the Four Acres brand.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A degree or BTEC Higher in hospitality management, business studies or marketing.
  • Between 5-10 years of experience in hotel and corporate conferencing.
  • Experience in building brands is desirable
  • Fluent level of English. Other languages will be highly appreciated.
  • Good attention to detail in documentation, process and event presentation
  • Ability to communicate well across cultures and organisational hierarchy.
