Pastry Chef at ACC Liverpool

Job Introduction

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Head Pastry Chef, the Assistant Pastry Chef will assist in the preparation and service of all sections within the Bakery, as well as assisting the Kitchen Brigade within the main Kitchen.

Operational Excellence

 

  • Support the senior kitchen brigade to set and maintain high standards of food quality in terms of taste, presentation and service in a style which Centerplate is renowned for.
  • Support the Executive Head Chef and Head Pastry Chef, by being involved in picking the correct food offering for events.
  • Follow SOP documents created for all dishes to ensure standardisation on dishes, allergen management and through to final presentation.
  • Be accountable for stock control systems within the kitchen stores.
  • Ensure all daily health and safety, food safety documents are completed and that high levels of cleanliness are achieved.
  • Support the kitchen brigade with minimising waste in conjunction with Lean Path equipment

 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Supports the Head Pastry Chef to ensure that all food items for the business are prepared and served on time and meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Support the kitchen team to maintain the cleanliness in all assigned areas, including refrigerators, freezers, kitchens, food preparation areas and completes all due diligence paperwork.
  • Support the kitchen in minimizing spoilage and waste, ensuring that produce is stored correctly, portion control is adhered to and any waste is recorded.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all team members and clients
  • Communicating effectively to team members.
  • To be aware of all legislation that is relevant to your work and ensure that all legal requirement are met including: Licensing, Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health, Fire Precautions and any others.
  • Adherence to the all Policies and procedures.

 

Occasional Duties

 

  • To assist at Company’s Major Events when able to do so.
