Painter and Decorator

Job Introduction

  • The delivery of planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with agreed iFM contract
  • To ensure compliance in accordance with statutory regulations and site procedures
  • The delivery of minor works and reactive repairs across site
  • To carry out various works as deemed appropriate to trade and contract
 

Role Responsibility

  • The painter and decorator will be working on a site that has a multitude of buildings with different uses and of various ages.
  • The painter and decorator will robustly deliver the completion and closure of reactive and planned maintenance tasks including statutory compliance tasks to ensure all work is completed in the required timeframes.
  • The painter and decorator will ensure Sodexo and site policy compliance is adhered to.
  • The site still has a high continent of Asbestos containing materials present and the painter and decorator will need to ensure compliance when dealing with such materials.
  • Time scales will often be tight and impact to the Client business kept to a minimum.
  • All work carried out is to be compliant with current regulations.
  • The painter and decorator will deal with a high number of different products for both internal and external applications.
  • The nature of some of the Client requests will require research and engagement with specialists to resolve.
  • The requirement will exist to carry out work outside of the normal working hours.
  • The painter and decorator will be required to support to the financial performance of the contract where applicable through reducing costs and or managing Sodexo resources of all types effectively.
 

The painter and decorator will be required to supports the wider Sodexo team beyond their own remit in line with business requirements on their own initiative or as and when requested.

The Ideal Candidate

    • Sound understanding and experience of relevant regulations and procedures
    • A good understanding and capability for the professional delivery of painting and decorating.
    • Robust application of Health and Safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Ability to promote a safe working environment.
    • Be able to work in a team of varying capabilities and trades to deliver a high-quality service to the client.
    • Good communications skills through the use of verbal and written passage of information both up and down the organisation structure and to non-technical audiences.
    • Be able to interpret requirements and find solutions for those requirements.
     
    Have a reasonable understanding of other trade disciplines and how they impact on work being undertaken.

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 18:00 - 06:00
