Padre/Legad Assistant (Bde)

Job Introduction

To provide administrative support for the 16 Air Assault Brigade (16Bde) Senior Chaplain and Legal Advisor.

Role Responsibility

  • Receipt, despatch and record all church correspondence.
  • Draft routine emails to Brigade Chaplains, Brigade Chain of Command and Garrison personnel.
  • Prepare and submit returns for 16 Bde chaplaincy matters.
  • Maintain chaplaincy tracker for all 16Bde chaplains.
  • Maintain 16Bde chaplaincy SharePoint.
  • Process Garrison church collections – record and deliver to Service Fund Accountant (SFA).
  • Reimburse chaplain or garrison church expenses.
  • Assist with church administration including managing church diary.
  • Liaise with MOD chaplains and officiating chaplains to military within 16Bde.
  • Ad hoc projects.
  • Maintain chaplains notice board.
  • Attend chaplaincy team meetings.
  • Compile legal cases for 16Bde Legal Advisor from Joint Personnel Administration (JPA).
  • Liaise with 16Bde SO3 Discipline on new and existing legal cases.
  • Be the first point of contact when 16Bde Legad is on exercise for incoming calls.
  • Diary management for Legad when out of office.
  • Provision of stationery.
 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills – Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Administrative experience in busy office environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines as well as prioritise, organise and plan.
  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent; or NVQ Business Administration Level 2.  
  • Knowledge of military IT systems and environment is desirable
