Multi-skilled Maintenance Operative

Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable multiskilled Maintenance operative to join our team on our Clients manufacturing site in Banbury. You should have a previous experience in a similar role, a "can-do" attitude and the ability to work independently.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintain high level standards for the building fabric by conducting weekly checks and reporting back to the supervisor with any issues.
  • To assist with the maintenance and upkeep including minor refurbishment of the premises.
  • Completion of work both planned and reactive as issued by the Supervisor from the Maximo PPM request system
  • Carry out routine testing and maintenance of equipment provided for firefighting and safe evacuation.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on Fire pumps and associated Fire valves including weekly and monthly inspections and recording and reporting the findings.
  • Carry out minor plumbing works including internal and external drainage and guttering.
  • To assist with controlling Legionella within the domestic water systems within the premises, including accurate reporting and record keeping.
  • Willing to learn new skills, techniques and practices for a variety of trades whilst adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Liaise with the Supervisor to ensure that tools and equipment are suitable for purpose and the working environment is safe for all the given tasks.

  • Flexibility to work within a small team.
  • Ability to work unsupervised as necessary
  • Be able to communicate at all levels with honesty.
  • Desire to further their skills within the company development program, leading to an apprenticeship.
  • Ability to solve problems in a safe and efficient manner

  • Excellent communication and good time management skills
  • Reliable and responsible attitude.
  • Contributes effectively working within a team environment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven to ability to prioritise and able to work on own initiative.
  • A knowledge of CAFM Systems
  • IT literate
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and COSHH.
