Multi Trader – plumbing

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Multi Trader with plumbing bias to assist with the successful and safe delivery of basic engineering maintenance on site with a plumbing bias but would include other trades including electrical / decorating / air handling unit filter changes and lamp changes and other light engineering tasks as directed or requested by the Technical Services Manager / General Services Manager / Sodexo Management team / Facilities Representatives.

Role Responsibility

 

  • To assist with predominately plumbing biased activities, specifically washrooms
  • This role would also include light engineering maintenance tasks on site – decoration and general repairs
  • The safe testing, operation, and maintenance of all light plant and equipment within contract / scope
  • To fully engage with the Maximo system of fault reporting and update details in a timely manner
  • To fully support the department in ensuring all contractors on site comply with the Sodexo Permit system.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety compliance within requirements of risk assessments, COSHH Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, Audit actions and any other H&S matters as they arise.
  • To comply at all times with the Company's Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Procedures and to ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Maintenance of records in line with company procedures and maintenance of records library including maintenance of Integrated Management System. (Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental obligations).
  • To ensure that all areas in which work is undertaken are kept in a clean and tidy condition, to ensure minimum disruption to the building occupants, and a safe working environment.
  • To fully engage with personnel in other departments including Sodexo, Client and other Contractors thus enabling strong working relationships
  • To understand the Sodexo and Client process for Issue of permits and closure of permits. Updating permit logs. (Fire Isolation/Hot Works/Permit to Work etc)
  • Accurate completion and population of all job sheets with relevant information. Consumables used records / cost
  • Building professional relationships with all stakeholders on the contract.
  • To attend courses and toolbox talks where required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed or requested by Sodexo management in order to meet the operational requirements of the business.
  • To liaise and co-operate and assist with supervision when Sodexo have visiting specialist sub-contractors and other visiting disciplines to ensure the continuing efficient operation of the plant without disruption to the occupants and to ensure sufficient adherence of health and safety procedures and contractor methodology statements submitted
     
 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Industrial / Manufacturing Environment Experience
  • City & Guild 6129-22 or NVQ General Plumbing or relevant experience or
  • Certificate Water Regulations and Vented and unvented water storage systems.
  • Basic practical and theoretical knowledge of decorating and decorating industry best practice
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, in English, clearly.
  • IOSHH Working Safely or Equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence, preferably clean, for insurance purposes, all our drivers are required to be aged 25+ and have 2 years driving experience.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Outlook & Lotus Notes
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Personable nature with the ability to interact with all levels of Associates, colleagues and other onsite contractors
  • Clean, tidy and presentable appearance
  • Ability to embrace DLS
  • Ability to work as a team player and to be flexible as job tasks dictate
 

Package Description

  • Working the following early and late weekly rotating shifts:
    • Early shift: Monday to Friday from 06.00 - 14.30 and
    • Late shift: Monday to Thursday from 13.30 - 22.00,  Friday from 11.00 - 19.30 and
    • Saturday and Sunday working as required
  • Essential: Applicant MUST possess a full UK driving licence preferably clean and for Sodexo's insurance purposes applicants MUST be aged 25+ and have 2 years relevant driving experience 
  • Working across a large manufacturing site, this role involves the following activities:
    • Plumbing activities and mechanical fault finding
    • Electrical lighting and replacing hand dryers / similar 
    • General repairs in washrooms including  electrical repairs
    • Light maintenance of light plant and equipment
    • To complete the above tasks in line with Sodexo's Quality Assurance and Health and Safety procedures and industry best practise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required enabling good relations between our customers, Clients and colleagues
  • Proven experience essential along with a flexible and versatile nature
