Mechanical Technical Manager
Job Introduction
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Technical Manager to join our Sodexo team over at Queen's Hospital, Essex. Where you will be responsible for ensuring we provide a safe environment, suitable for patients, visitors and staff that use the building. While, maintaining compliance levels at all times.
You will have a proactive, can-do attitude, with a high level of initiative and strong leadership skills to manage a team of engineers, and your confidence and mental agility to 'think on your feet' and provide practical solutions to problems will be truly valued.

Role Responsibility
- Build and engage a solid relationship with SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) Management team to ensure Sodexo’s interests are protected
- Continually attend courses relative to the post or requirement of the Estates Manager, including attending residential AP courses
- Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, attending regular meetings where appropriate, and guaranteeing co-operation when required
- Monthly reporting to the Client/Trust within the agreed reporting process and SLA's
- Responsible for ensuring that all statutory legislation; H&S, HTM’s, and British Standards, code of practice and regulations are complied with in relation to maintenance, projects, TVE’s and Small Works
- Manage a team of 10 engineers, providing guidance, ensuring training is complete and up-to-date, and best practice always followed
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Mechanical City & Guilds and HNC/ONC qualification or similar
- Strong HTM knowledge
- Thorough understanding of M&E systems including HVAC, MTHW, Medical Gas Systems, Ventilation Systems
- Sound knowledge of Legionella prevention and management in Hospitals
- F-Gas, Gas Safe knowledge or certification, and Health & Safety, IOSH certification
- Current or previous AP qualifications - Water, Ventilation, Medical Gas or Pressure Systems
- Experience in managing, coaching and influencing individuals and teams
- Confident, customer/client facing attitude with excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Be flexible and available to be part of the on call team rote - living within a maximun of 1hr from site

- CDM regulations experience or training
- Decontamination knowledge
- Maximo knowledge
- NEBOSH General or higher
