Maintenance Officer

Job Introduction

We have a fantastic, permanent, opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced time served Mechanical & Electrical engineer to work with a forward thinking and dynamic estates team managing high quality and effective maintenance services across our clients properties in Northern Ireland.

You will have experience managing/supervising a team of people and have an excellent understanding of statutory compliance requirements.

Role Responsibility

• Be an essential part of the management of a team who will ensure the safe operation, installation, maintenance and repair of multiple M&E services, building fabric and specialist equipment on site.
• Co-ordinate labour (direct and sub contract) to ensure delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance and Micro Projects across a complex portfolio of buildings.
• Providing advice and guidance to the contract team in all aspects the of the M&E and building services associated with the contract.
• Participate in the on-call rota, providing out of hours cover for the helpdesk.
• Regular liaison with client to ensure a continuous dialogue and build confidence and delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience in a similar role where you have managed maintenance services on a complex estate.
• You must have a relevant level 4 qualification (such as NVQ, HNC etc) in Mechanical or Electrical subjects.
• Excellent relationship building skills and stakeholder management.
• Solid understanding of statutory compliance requirements.
• A Full driving licence

Preferable:

• HND or equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical subject
• Experience of Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).
• Proven track record in the delivery of micro works on a complex estate
• Demonstrable experience of PPM specifications and standards
• Experience understanding and delivering contractual requirements such as audit and reporting
• Experience managing multiple contractors on a complex estate
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong planning and problem-solving abilities
• Experience of CAFM / CMMS systems
• Experience of the Government Services sector or large estate services supplier
