Maintenance Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for a proficient, time-served Maintenance Manager with an electrical or mechanical background and from a manufacturing environment to join our team on a prestigious client site in Rochester, Kent.

You would look after a multi-building service and manage an established team of 13. To do well in this role you would have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, in addition to proven track record in facilities maintenance management.

Role Responsibility

  • Be an essential part of the management of a team who will ensure the safe operation and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment on the site.
  • Co-ordinate labour (direct and sub-contract) to ensure delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance Service
  • Experience of running and delivering Minor works and project works.
  • Creation and ownership of weekly and monthly reporting
  • Ownership of Sites Snow and Ice Plan
  • Undertake both planned and reactive activity within personal levels of competence and lead their team from a technical perspective. Typically, it is expected that the post holder will spend approx. 50% of their time in a ‘hands on’ role and the remainder on supervisory/admin/audit/quality duties.
  • Lead in the provision of a reactive maintenance service during normal operating hours of the site.
  • Lead in the provision of a reactive maintenance service outside operating hours of the site.
  • Responsibility for the operation of the Permit to Work System.
  • Delivering Tool Box Talks to respective multi trade teams
  • Ownership of engineers’ competence and highlighting training requirements to Site Operations Manager
  • To formulate, develop and implement systems that will ensure plant is maintained and operated to its optimum efficiency.
  • Encourage and participate in departmental energy saving schemes and promote the understanding and importance of the economic use of energy.
  • Undertake employee Performance Reviews including the identification of training and development needs.
  • Monitor site performance of sub-contractors and make recommendations for sub-contractor nominations.
  • Undertaking self-audits of in-house engineers and contractors “point of work” assessments
  • Attending and running meetings in line with respective role
  • Use of IT systems to provide/monitor data within the CAFM, Quality Assurance and other management re-porting systems.
  • Super user of Global Maximo in line of contract governance
  • Leading and monitoring engineers use of PDA’s and training
  • Ownership of materials required for task and record keeping of workshop spares and tooling
  • Record keeping of all maintenance to the IMS both hard and electronically
  • Ownership of calibration for respective tooling
  • Subcontractor management
  • Client and Sodexo Audits
  • Involvement and ownership of actions from and for audits for respective areas of responsibility
  • Responsible with the SHEQ team for the upkeep, monitoring, assessment and reviewing of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record in a Maintenance Management role
  • Electrical or Mechanical bias
  • 18th edition electrical course
  • Precious AP position
  • Background in manufacturing and plant engineering environment
  • Excellent communication skills
