Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently looking to add to our casual team at Gallery of Modern Art One, to deliver a world class guest experience. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team.

Café Modern 1 is a 60 seater, self-service Café situated in the Gallery of Modern Art One in Edinburgh. We are much loved by our regulars for our location and salads, soups, hot food and home baking.

The Kitchen Porter is a vital role; making service possible and providing support for the whole café team. They need to enjoy organising themselves well, communicating positively with the whole team and taking pride in delivering sparkling clean equipment and premises in a fast paced environment.

The role is based on shifts on 5 out of 7 days and weekend working is essential. Shifts are usually 10:00am - 6:30pm but is dependent on how busy the Café is.

There is also occasional evening work for events within the Gallery.

Role Responsibility

Operation of Dishwasher
Assisting with cleaning of the kitchen and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
Assisting with food preparation
Completing tasks in line with COSHH, Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations

The Ideal Candidate

Experience in a busy kitchen environment
Good communication skills
Experience of working in a team
Hard working and reliable
