Hospitality Manager

Job Introduction

Independents by Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for a Hospitality Manager to join our talented team at Abingdon School in Oxfordshire.

In this important role you will lead a busy hospitality operation for this prestigious Independent School, with catering services ranging from sports teas through to functions, events and fine dining dinners.

You will be an experienced manager, able to lead and motivate your team, be incredibly organised and ideally have a background in catering and events management.

Please note this role includes weekend / evening work to meet business needs.

This role is subject to Safer Recruitment checks and the successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Efficient management of busy hospitality operation which includes match teas, VIP dinners, functions and school events
  • Management of supervisors, plus casual staff to deliver a high quality 5* service at all times and continuously improve standards
  • Act as subject matter expert to review and continuously improve service standards and innovation
  • Plan for success by concentrating on attention to detail of both standards and service
  • Manage all aspects of service planning and execution of Fine Dining, Casual Dining and Sports Teas for both College and external customer groups
  • Control and monitor the financial performance of the unit and to maintain costs within pre-budgeted targets
  • Ensure that we deliver a high quality and well organised services and that all food is prepared to a high standard as per service level agreement, Company policy and current legislation
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in high end catering and events management, ideally obtained from a hotel, events or prestigious environment
  • Passion for delivering great food and service
  • Experience of leading and developing a team within a catering and events environment
  • Good financial awareness and strong management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Proactive and highly organised with a great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety

Package Description

Up to £32,000 per annum plus excellent benefits package.
