Horticultural Contracts Manager

Job Introduction

Are you an experienced Horticultural Contracts manager? Do you have an experience in sports pitch and fine turf management? We have a great opportunity to join our team!

You would join a well-established contract with further 15+ years remaining; managing a team of 14 that also includes 2 supervisors. In your remit would fall managing horticultural services on the site, managing the team and sub-contractors as well as developing and maintaining client relationships.

Role Responsibility

  • To manage Grounds maintenance, horticultural and related tasks within the site
  • To develop and maintain a positive working culture and environment for employees through sound leadership and effective communication.
  • To manage client relationships and expectations.
  • To maintain formal and informal communications with clients and customers. 
  • To seek to raise standards and improve quality, through constant review and monitoring. Share and implement best practice, initiatives and increase productivity in accordance with company business objectives.
  • To comply with the company’s client retention strategy.
  • Legislative compliance - ensuring that all aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and codes of practice.
  • To continually review service delivery against the contract specification and KPIs.
  • To ensure that all costs allied to gross margin, wages, and expenses are within the budgeted levels agreed between the client and Sodexo. These should be recorded appropriately in the weekly P&L report.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of HS&E management delivery

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous horticultural experience with emphasis on sports pitch and fine turf management
  • Team management experience
  • Contract management experience
  • Good working knowledge of H&S regulations
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience
  • IT literate
