Head of Retail

Job Introduction

As our new Head of Retail you will play a pivotal part in shaping the regional retail and development strategy for our Healthcare contracts in the South. You’ll be responsible for the budgetary, teams and our retail operations (franchise brands, cafes, convenience stores & restaurants so having experience of multiple brands and teams will really help you in this role.

In this role you will cover the whole of the South Region so a good level of  flexibility with time and location is needed. 

 

Role Responsibility

  • Take overall responsibility for ensuring that the retail P&L account is exceeded in region
  • Identify organic growth opportunities through innovation and new marketing initiatives throughout the Retail operation
  • Drive service operations and influence the NHS to design and deliver a world-class portfolio of Retail offers which reflect our target market and our in line with the vision and values of both NHS, Private hospitals and Sodexo
  • Contribute to and implement the Retail Strategy for NHS and private healthcare both on a short and long-term basis
  • Ensure that clients receive world-class service delivered within contractual terms and in a cost-effective manner
  • Support the retail sales strategy to target stand-alone retail opportunities
  • Be an integral part of creating a costed sales pipeline and acquisition pipeline
  • Contribute to the retail element of bids to ensure that innovative and profitable opportunities are realised
  • Lead the mobilisation of retail contracts in region and deliver within budget and on time
  • Oversee recruitment in region and ensure the motivation of a strong Retail team using creative recruitment methods and incentive schemes
  • Monitor KPI reporting, review contents of client meetings and deliver accompanying actions

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience of working in a Senior Retail operations role within the food retail sector
  • Extensive experience of successfully managing and delivering upon multiple million-pound profit and loss accounts, and budgets
  • Strong retail background operating multiple sites within a pressurised environment
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Operational knowledge, skills and experience in Retail Management to a world-class standard
  • Contributing to and implementing Retail strategy
  • Proven track record of executing a sales strategy
  • Design and Implementation of Retail SOP’s
  • Full awareness of marketing tools and up-to-date industry initiatives to drive additional Retail sales
  • Proven track record of managing a large, experienced Retail team
  • Experience of client liaison at a senior -level
  • Resilience to manage multiple tasks and prioritisation
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial and commercial information

Desirable

  • Experience in a Healthcare or PFI environment
  • Successful track record working history within FM organisation
