Head Chef - Weddings, Conferences, Events

Job Introduction

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to lead the culinary operation at a conference and events venue with a world class rowing lake. In this role, you will continue to seek new ways to drive revenue for the business and lead an innovative food service. You will therefore have specific experience in providing food services within a similar venue, a proven track record of quality food provision, excellent craft skill and passion service excellence.

This is a key site for our Independents by Sodexo business and boasts a unique partnership with one of our existing colleges. It’s therefore imperative in this role to develop long-term client relationships across the contracts to enhance retention and ensure optimum customer satisfaction.


 

Role Responsibility

  • Lead the delivery and production of quality food high profile event, conferencing and wedding venue, ensuring the delivery of high quality services to our customer
  • Lead, develop and inspire a small brigade of Chefs to ensure high quality food is delivered, providing coaching and training when required.
  • Develop the service offering and fresh food from scratch ethos, plus the engineering of menus and innovation.
  • Have responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene
  • Ensure financial documentation and accountancy of the unit (and those from suppliers) is accurate and within agreed budgeted levels
  • Maximise profitability of the contract and identify opportunities
  • Ensure that a Five Star customer service is delivered at all times – in the quality of food and customer service

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience as a Head Chef in a conference & banqueting and public catering/event environment – Exposure to wedding catering is an advantage.
  • Passion for first class customer service and great at building client relationships
  • Excellent culinary skill and innovation
  • Demonstrate s genuine passion for high end food and customer service
  • Entrepreneurial flair and up to date with market trends
  • First class communication skills are essential with ability to liaise with senior figures in the client organisation
  • Exceptional attention to detail
