Job Introduction

The handyperson is responsible for the carrying out of the day-to-day duties to the highest possible standard. 

His/her tasks could vary from general repairs to the up keep of pathways and public areas within the premises and managing building maintenance contractors.

This role is one which requires a very flexible person, who can multi task quickly and easily. 

The successful candidate will have a hands-on role and will be also required to fix and maintain all non-technical matters. 

Ultimately, they are responsible for ensuring and maintaining a high quality delivery of services to the client in order to meet and exceed Service Level Agreement Standards. 

The role therefore requires a strong understanding of the client’s needs and an ability to fulfil these needs to the best of their ability. 

 

Role Responsibility

Execution of non-technical works to include but not exclusive to

  • Painting decorating
  •  General repairs/handyman duties
  • General plumbing and electrical knowledge
  • Logging all jobs on the facilities management database, raising work permits and managing building maintenance contractors
  • First fix any items on site that is within his ability or remit as agreed with the client.
  • Dealing with the client, i.e. attending some informal meetings, answering phone requests and reverting with updates on job progress
  • Other ad hoc duties

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record in similar role, preferably with at least 2 years’ experience

  • Good knowledge of a service industry and the importance of customer service

  • Proven ability to organize tasks

  • Ability to carry out duties efficiently

    Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Practical experience in a similar role

  • Measured and Consistent Approach to all functions and responsibilities.

    Essential Personal Qualities

  • A strong interest in practical, hands-on work with an ability to fix non technical items

  • Effective at team building and being able to work well within a team.

  • Ability to be flexible as and when required, whether it be a work task or an approach to people. 

  • Commitment to job in hand, colleagues and company.

  • Extremely customer focused in all dealings with the client.
