HSE Advisor

Job Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Test centres team. You will work proactively with managers and support them in evaluating risk, establish and maintain safe systems of work ensuring a safe environment for colleagues, contractors, agency workers and customers. This will be the ideal role if you have HSE experience and are looking to gain invaluable experience working alongside our frontline test centre teams.

Role Responsibility

  • Facilitating the maintenance and management of environmental health, safety and well-being through systems, audits, inspections and investigations.
  • Setting of high standards and expectations on employees in terms of service excellence and safety awareness behavior and performance.
  • Ensuring health and safety coverage and operational support for testing centres 7-days a week (as per agreed working hours)
  • Providing operational support by ensuring attendance Health and Safety on mandatory ‘daily calls’ including morning Ops. calls; RTS/LTS calls and ‘weekly calls’ with operations.
  • Reporting on outcomes of safety audits and safety walks (review at safety meetings and use this as a forum for any improvements).
  • Supporting the management of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases within Sodexo Testing Centres; including advising on follow-up actions for example increased cleaning of touch points, deep-cleans and reporting to DHSC in accordance with relevant KPIs
  • Monitoring and interpreting statistical Environment, Health and Safety data
  • Supporting the Health and Safety Management Team in ensuring the Rapid Testing Centre safety plan reflects current legislation, best practice and company policy.
  • In conjunction with the Learning and Development Manager, assisting in the design and delivery of comprehensive operational technical training to promote, develop and sustain a positive Health and Safety awareness culture throughout business operations for example (but not limited to): induction training, accident investigation training, risk assessment training, management of suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases training.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Certification to NEBOSH Qualification (or to be met within agreed timescale)
  • Experience in soft FM safety management
  • Good organizational and communication skills and production of concise information.
  • Ability to demonstrate achievement of continuous improvement in the workplace
  • Experience and responsibility for a safety management system operation
  • Commitment to HSE management and experience within an HSE role
