Job Introduction

An exciting and rewarding opportunity for an HR Manager has become available to join our dedicated COVID 19 Test Centres team on a 12 month fixed term contract to provide remote HR support for a multi-site operation. The work will involve providing support to Test Centre Channels - RTS,LTS, MTU, Mass Testing, etc, here you can really make a difference.

In this role you will be responsible for providing an effective, efficient and professional HR support to the business, working directly with the HRBP and the Operations team (Network & Area Managers) across Test Centre channels within the defined Region. You will maximise performance of the team and strive towards creating new strategies to enhance service delivery whilst monitoring key people processes in line with policy and procedures.

Sodexo has been working alongside the Department for Health and Social Care and its NHS test and trace team since early 2020 when the pandemic first emerged. We now run over 150 test centres across the UK, delivering with certainty.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage the HR advisory team in ensuring all queries relating to employee lifecycle, employee relations, compensation and benefits are handled effectively.
  • Provide support on complex ER matters and develop appropriate solutions. Build strong working relationships with Site Leads/Managers and Account Management team.
  • Design and deliver coaching solutions to line managers on ER issues for improved handling of cases
  • Manage the HR administration and case management volumes, ensuring an efficient service is provided efficiently and consistently.
  • Lead or support change projects including restructures, TUPE processes, etc.
  • Ensure a high-quality delivery of all monthly and annual HR events are delivered on time including monthly reporting packs, pay changes, PDR reviews, long service awards and employee engagement surveys
  • Review service delivery and devise strategies to increase efficiencies and make improvements to HR service delivery.
  • Liaise with managers to improve service delivery taking on board constructive feedback.
  • Work with Resourcing Manager and Workforce Planning Manager to understand the local labour market (workforce availability, reward, attraction and retention drivers) to improve delivery of resourcing solutions resulting in the reduction of vacancies / time to fill
  • Work with Managers to identify resource needs across business to maintain/improve performance.
  • Spot-check the effectiveness of pre-employment checks and on-boarding and drive compliance for RTW & DBS checks.
  • Assist L&D Business Partners to conduct overall skills gap analysis in line with business and HR strategy to identify areas for learning development with L&D Business Partners.
  • Attend all regular meetings including Operations, Resourcing, HR meetings,etc.
  • Drive efficiencies in relation to sickness management through regular audits and trend analysis.
  • Attend to any other duties or reasonable requests made by the HRBP as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • HR generalist experience and good understanding of all aspects of HR Management including employee relations, employee engagement and change management.
  • Understanding of human capital measurement and delivery of performance improvement interventions.
  • Line management experience within a HR function.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience of working without direct supervision.
  • Well organised, responsive and able to work to strict deadlines.
  • HR project experience.
