HR Coordinator

Job Introduction

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-performing, dynamic HR professional to join Sodexo’s Energy & Resources segment, based in, or within commuting distance of the Aberdeen area.

In this position, you’ll report to the HR Business Partner but will be accountable for delivering high-quality HR services to your own portfolio of client sites, whilst supporting strategy delivery and managing union relations, specifically relating to our offshore workforce.

Sodexo’s Energy & Resources team serves clients across specialist industries: oil & gas; mining and engineering; construction plus other energy sectors.

We have a dedicated team of 2,000 employees working at over 80 sites in the UK & Ireland region - often in isolated locations both on and offshore.

Onshore and offshore operations are coordinated from our Energy & Resources segment headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Role Responsibility

  • Build and maintain highly collaborative and strong working relationships with key stakeholders across operations, HR shared services, logistics, resourcing, finance, and business development, etc.
  • Provide sound employee relations advice to people managers
  • Work closely with operational leaders to support mobilisation, stabilisation and transformation
  • Collaborate with colleagues across logistics, operations, finance and resourcing to build and maintain robust workforce planning strategies
  • Support the deployment and implementation of engagement initiatives across your portfolio
  • Be an active ambassador of performance management initiatives, constantly championing a continuous improvement mindset and helping managers drive initiatives at site level
  • Work closely with segment and central L&D teams to address skill gaps and deploy industry-specific training for managers and frontline teams
  • Support the HR Business Partner and HR Director in designing, implementing and embedding key business change initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, you should meet all of our criteria before applying for this position. However, if you’re 80% of the way there, we’d still like to hear from you.

  • Educated to degree level in HR or a related field such as business management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound understanding of the principles of good HR practice and some working and current knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to prepare high-quality written reports and present well to stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Experience of engaging with, presenting to and consulting clients
  • Organised, methodical with high attention to detail
  • Good IT skills, ideally with exposure to HR systems, spreadsheet analysis techniques and T&A systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and fast paced HR transactional work activities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing contracts of employment and terms and conditions
  • Highly numerate with sound understanding of total reward principals
  • Experience of working in an HR role within a highly unionised energy or FM environment
  • CIPD qualified or willing to work towards it

Up to £35,000 (pro rata, negotiable) + bonus + benefits
