Job Introduction

Sodexo have an excellent opportunity for a HR advisor to join our busy team based in Portsmouth. 

Our people are vital part of our organisational success, supporting our site managers with employee relations and employee engagement, along with building rapport with other company services will be vital to this role. With the support of our HR Business Partner this role is a key position within our government segment, and will offer the opportunity to work on a variety of contracts. 

To be successful in this position you should have a good background in generalised HR with a wealth of experience within ER case management, evidence of supporting line managers and fantastic people skills. Would suit someone looking for development into a HR Business partner role.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide local advice on complex ER matters and coach managers appropriately with the support of the HR business partner.
  • Build strong working relationships with our central HR team and on site managers.
  • Assist managers with identifying talent, creating succession plans an on going recruitment.  
  • Be an advocate for Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to deliver the HR calendar of events throughout the business, including pay review, bonus, performance conversations and ratings, talent management, employee surveys, recognition events (Star of the Month, Spirit of Sodexo, Long Service etc) and apprenticeships.
  • Understand challenges that business managers face, report on key HR metrics and support the HR business partner to identify trends and help influence progress and performance.
  • Promote best practice across the business.
  • Focus on continuous professional development including keeping up to date with employment legislation changes.
  • Support HR strategy by working proactively in assigned working groups as agreed within personal objectives.

The Ideal Candidate

  • HR generalist experience and good understanding of all aspects of employment legislation 
  • Proven record of managing and supporting a wide range of ER cases
  • Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication  
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and demonstrable experience of coaching  
  • Self-managed, well organised, responsive and able to work under pressure 
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) 
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards  
     

Package Description

£35,000 - £37,000 per annum
