Job Introduction

  • All relevant legislation and MoD / Army policies and procedures must be adhered to and job holder must remain aware of changes / updates to relevant legislation and policy.
  • Effective coordination and liaison with a variety of Garrison staff, associated units and external agencies and contractors.
  • Understand a multitude of competing factors / priorities that affect the drafting of duty rosters.
  • Acquiring situational awareness from Garrison social media sources and reporting to chain of command.
  • Delivery of priority Garrison effects / outputs when such delivery may be affected by reliance on other / external agencies / organizations, or agencies / organizations out with their control.
 

Role Responsibility

 

  • Responsible for the creation, amendment and distribution of quarterly duty rosters for key Garrison and Brigade appointments in co-operation with the GSM.
  • Preparation and co-ordination of the WIP for all staff (military and civilian).
  • Co-ordination and liaison with personnel involved with the GCAP meetings and promoting Garrison initiatives.
  • Administration of Garrison fire records.
  • Monitoring of Garrison social media interface and responding to or escalating highlighted issues.
  • Provide administrative support/cover for security and vetting administrator during periods of authorised absence.
  • Arrange and coordinate staff security training as required.
  • Deliver high-quality administrative support to Garrison Staff Officers’ within line management chain.
  • Provide administrative / clerical support to operational MACA tasks as directed.
  • At the direction of the relevant Authority Personnel, perform general duties in accordance with Staff Duties for Administrative Support Staff (Para 1.1, Appendix 3, Section 7 of Part 3 to Schedule 4 of the Project Agreement).
 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Efficient in both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and planning skills.
  • Proficient in IT skills, particularly Excel spreadsheets and use of SharePoint.
  • Social media: skilled in setting-up, monitoring and managing accounts.
  • Good inter-personal skills.
  • Persuasive and persistent in achieving challenging objectives.
  • Good judgement essential.
  • A self-starter who is proactive in their approach to work.
  • Able to see the big picture.
  • Able to make effective decisions.
  • Ability to foster and promote effective collaboration and partnerships.
  • Manage and prioritise workload to deliver a quality service in a timely manner.
  • Deliver effects quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • To hold or be willing to obtain SC level clearance.
  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, or NVQ Business Administration Level 2.
  • Previous experience of working in a Military environment is desirable.
