Grounds Maintenance Person

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Person to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Undertaking grounds maintenance, horticultural and related tasks within the designated sites to the required specifications and quality standards
  • Undertaking all grass cutting
  • Edge trimming
  • General pruning
  • Undertaking the watering of plants, beds and containers on the site
  • Removal of rubbish from waste bins
  • Assist the Handyman and cleaning service as required
  • The collection and the removal of any waste arising from activities
  • Conducting relevant preventive maintenance checks of machinery provided for the undertaking of ground maintenance
  • To implement the principles and the practices of the Health and Safety and Assurance at work and the customer care whilst at work including reporting to your line manager any hazards, unsafe procedures or systems
  • To ensure appropriate company paper work is completed daily, weekly and monthly

The Ideal Candidate

  • Driving licence
  • Knowledge and experience of maintaining grass, shrubs etc.

FRIMLEY LODGE 3G PITCH - GROUNDSMAN DUTIES SPECIFICATION

 

  1. Staff attending the 3G should have very good interpersonal skills and able to communicate and interact well with users. Staff will be expected to:
  2. meet and greet teams ( a list of each evenings games will be provided in advance). A system will be in place to ensure teams “sign in” and this should be enforced by the Staff member.
  3. check all boots for correct studs
  4. ensure the right teams are on the right sections of the pitch
  5. ensure all sessions end on time and that pitches are cleared in time to allow subsequent bookings
  6. Line marking pitches as required
  7. Staff should ensure all departing teams remove all items, including litter, water bottles etc. before finally departing.
  8. Staff should remain highly visible throughout the evening session, clearly identifiable in marked Hi Vis attire. Whilst a short comfort break is allowed, it is expected that the staff member will remain outside and on site throughout the evening.
  9. Staff should report any faults, breakages or incidents to the Client Officer the next day
  10. Daily removal of litter, stones and general debris from surface, 3G attendant on the days of the match, this is included in hourly attendance rate
  11. Daily checks on high usage areas.
  12. Weekly removal of litter, stones and general debris from surface
  13. Weekly De-compaction and levelling of infill. We are using council owned small ride on with drag brush behind it, rubber infill provided by the client
