Job Introduction

Sodexo's Government and Agencies segment have a fantastic opportunity for a General Services Manager to join a new team and part of the National contract we have with the HMRC.

As General Service Manager, you’ll manage a team delivering multiple services on site such as catering and hospitality, cleaning, front of house, reception, and portering. You’ll ensure that your team are motivated, engaged and delivering service excellence.

To be truly successful in this role, you must be an experienced facilities manager with excellent knowledge of Soft Services, you’ll be a charismatic and adaptable leader who is passionate about delivering service excellence. You’ll bring exception attention to detail with a focus on compliance within the contract. You’ll build effective working relationships, partnering with other providers whilst ensuring our client’s expectations are fully met.

This is a fantastic opportunity to base yourself in the heart of Nottingham City centre right next to the train station.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Have the overall accountability and responsibility for the day to day management, co-ordination and control of HMRC activity.
  • To focus on growth including the management of additional independent contract on site.
  • To plan, organise and manage delivery of all services within all the operational business areas
  • To ensure standards of service detailed in the SLA, KPS and within the schedules of the contractual T&Cs
  • To contribute to the growth of services in order to meet clients and commercial expectations.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Knowledge of working in a management role within the soft FM service industry
  • Leadership skills and knowledge
  • People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within military environment
  • Previous experience in effectively managing in a similar role
  • Health and Safety qualification equivalent to IOSH managing safely
  • Food safety qualification equivalent to CIEH level 3

Salary - £40,000 per annum
