Event Managers & Supervisors at Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh
Job Introduction
Heritage Portfolio are looking for talented and enthusiastic Event Managers & Supervisors to join their team at the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.
Located in the heart of Edinburgh and close to major transport routes, we deliver events where our guests feel they have escaped to their own sanctuary where the immediate views of the abundant gardens play beautifully in the foreground to the views across Edinburgh’s old town.
Whether it is an away day, outdoor BBQ for 100 or an intimate meeting or breathtaking wedding, you will lead our team to deliver magical moments for our guests.
Due to the nature of events, shifts are varied over a 7 day a week operation, with shifts starting as early as 8am and finishing by 2am, with shifts averaging between 8-10 hours within those time frames. This means there is variety and options as to shifts you are able to work giving you flexibility for a work/life balance.
Supervisor £11-12.50 experience dependent
Manager £13.50-15 experience dependent
Role Responsibility
- Manage standards and quality across the event delivery
- Effectively manage team members and take ownership of the event
- Take instruction from management and be able to delegate to the team
- Receive and act upon all guest feedback
- Stimulate upselling and revenue generating setting targets to the team
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, COVID-19, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH
- Ensure that staff are adequately trained and skilled to the required level
- Follow the challenge 25 policy and restrict sale of alcohol to those already inebriated or under 18
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven supervisory experience showing leadership, organisation and engagement
- Able to communicate effectively through written and verbal forms of communication
- Ability to make an excellent first impression, be proactive, able to multitask, numerate and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced service driven environment
- High standards of personal presentation
- Experience in hospitality is desired
