Deputy Portering and Security Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Portering & Security Manager to assist in the management of the Portering and Security services at Queen’s Hospital, Romford.

As Deputy Portering and Security Manager, you will support with the day to day running and staff management of the Portering and Security department, ensuring to deliver service excellence in accordance with contractual requirements.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Supervise all Portering and Security staff in order to maintain and deliver a quality service according to set work schedules and procedures
  • Maintain staffing levels in line with service requirements, providing cover as necessary
  • Ensure health and safety standards are understood and delivered across the whole hospital operations
  • Partner with the Portering and Security Manager to manage staff in line with the appropriate policies in relation to issues including conduct, performance, absence, grievance, fair treatment, pay progression, leave and all other HR policies
  • Co-ordinate and support the Supervisory Team to ensure the completion of appraisals, return to work interviews and team briefings to the required standard
  • Ensure health and safety standards are understood and delivered across the whole hospital operations
  • Accountability for escalating potential risks identified as appropriate to the Portering Manager
  • Ensure all statistics and figures of Portering response times are reported on a monthly basis through and training records are submitted

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience of managing a large team working in a multi department setting
  • SIA CCTV Licenced
  • Understanding and appreciation of the Hospital environment
  • Experience of working within a busy environment with proven record of managing to budget requirements
  • Ability to monitor, lead and develop a team of people increasing individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety, Employment and other legislative requirements
  • Proficient IT user (Excel, Outlook, Word)
